Barbie has a message many young men are in dire need of hearing and heeding: Achieve self-esteem by cultivating oneself and practicing virtue — not by vainly (note the double entendre, please [it’s important to what I’m trying to communicate]) pining away after an unrequited love.
I echo Man of la Mancha’s To Each His Dulcinea, “A man with moonlight in his hand has nothing there at all,” and Rush’s Anthem, “Live for yourself; there’s no one else more worth living for.”
